**[Brighton and Hove Albion](https://sportwitness.co.uk/brighton/) midfielder Pascal Groß has declared his move in the January transfer window a major success, and insisted he intends to stay this summer.**
[Fussball Transfers reports](https://www.fussballtransfers.com/a1470014360502920536-gross-bvb-abschied-war-bestfall) on comments from the midfielder today from an interview with Kicker. It seems the 34-year-old is very happy with his decision to return to Brighton in January.
**Brigton success**
-------------------
The midfielder moved back to Brighton at the end of the January transfer window following a year and a half at Borussia Dortmund.
Had previously spent seven years with the Seagulls, joining them in 2017 before establishing himself as a key player at the club during their recent success.
A €7m move to Dortmund offered him the chance at Champions League football and a shot in the Bundesliga, which he was keen to take up. He was initially a key player there too but found himself falling down the pecking order this season and so elected to return to Brighton.
He quickly slotted back into the picture at his old club, helping them secure Conference League football for next season. And he’s very happy with his decision.
“It was definitely a very good decision. I was able to play regularly again, and in the Premier League, plus qualifying for European competition and now the World Cup – the best-case scenario I hoped for with this move has come true.”
**Contract to 2027**
--------------------
His current deal with Brighton runs until 2027, meaning a decision will have to be made about his future before too long.
He, though, has no intention of moving anywhere else this summer given the success of his return already.
“Yes, I will definitely continue playing there,” he added.
For now, the focus will be on a busy summer at the World Cup. With a place in Julian Nageslmann’s squad now confirmed, Groß is set for an exciting end to a busy season. Few would have predicted he’d be in this situation not long ago.
