Vidosic will lead his side out against Manchester City on Sunday (3pm) with silverware at stake.
Albion’s route to the arch started with a win over Nottingham Forest while Vidosic was at home in Australia during his cancer-stricken father’s final days.
Rado had a coaching role with the Seagulls last season but had been advising his son on an informal basis ever since he took charge almost two years ago.
Vidosic said: “I always think about that every day, in those quiet moments and sometimes those crazier moments where it just sort of sometimes will hit you.

“Sometimes it's good memories, sometimes it's not so good memories of not that long ago.
“But I try to carry everything he has taught me in life and how he worked.
“I am the person I am today because of my father and my mother, but especially with dad in a football sense.
“I wanted to be like him when he was a player, and I was playing on the backfields as a junior running around, following him everywhere.
“It was a similar thing when he was a coach, that I was wanting to follow in those footsteps as well.
“I know he will be there. I know he will be watching, he won't miss that game.
“Hopefully we can again make him proud from above.”
Albion reported no new injuries and are likely to start with the XI which kicked off the semi-final win at Liverpool.
