It seemed Andoni Iraola was keeping his options open in hope of a job becoming available. However, this is no longer the case, though, not to AC Milan’s benefit.
The Iraola story seemed to really pick up in the past few days and it seemed that as quickly as Massimiliano Allegri had been sacked, his replacement could arrive. However, things slowed massively in the past 24 hours.
It even seemed like the deal was dead last night. However, Fabrizio Romano aimed to keep hopes alive, stating that a decision had not yet been made.
Despite all this, though, it has appeared like last night’s reporting was correct and Iraola will not be heading to Milan.

The suggestions were that he was holding out for the Liverpool job, with Arne Slot under immense pressure to keep his own role. Though it seems that he has now turned around on those hopes. Unfortunately, it is not in the direction of the Rossoneri, though.
Instead, as Florian Plettenberg reports for Sky Germany, it is in the direction of Bayer Leverkusen. So, it appears he is set to reject the Diavolo – and turn away from a potential move to Anfield – in favour of the German outfit.
