Ah, Tottenham Hotspur. In fairness, the Londoners are nothing if not gripping, keeping their fans on tenterhooks right up to the final day of the Premier League campaign, beating Everton 1-0 to save themselves from relegation.
Spurs have avoided the unthinkable, and now, Roberto De Zerbi can push for the revival that felt like it would never come throughout this fraught season.

A cynic might argue that it still hasn't come, and that Tottenham have far more to prove than their capacity to remain at the highest level, a feat achieved every single year in the top flight since 1978.
ENIC Group cannot afford to make a mess of the imminent summer transfer window, and with a talented Premier League forward already looking to complete a move to the club, it's time to show their fanbase that they mean business.
Premier League forward wants to join Spurs
Totteham are wasting no time in building themselves back up. Deals for experienced defenders Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi are in the pipeline, both expected to be finalised before the start of the World Cup.
However, an exodus is anticipated, needed, demanded, by a dissatisfied fanbase, "the best in the league, travelling and at home", says James Maddison.
Cristian Romero will leave, but he's not the only one, with the likes of Randal Kolo Muani and striker Richarlison sure to make way for new forwards. ENIC already have one in mind.
According to TEAMtalk, Tottenham are looking further forward too, with Savinho lined up as the perfect attacking signing to energise the flanks next season.
Manchester City's Savinho scores their second goal
What's more, the 21-year-old Manchester City winger, who struggled for minutes this season, is extremely keen on completing the move, having come close to joining the north Londoners one year ago.
Savinho indeed came within a whisker of joining Spurs for £60m last summer, approaching with two official bids, but City withdrew from negotiations late on.
Why Savinho would be a Kolo Muani upgrade for Spurs
Savinho's limited match action for Man City has seemingly set his mind on departing this summer, resettling at the heart of a new project whose ambitions align with his own.
He needs to play. This is one of the snappiest and most stylish wingers in England, a flamboyant winger who draws from a bottomless well of creativity.
Savinho
To scrutinise Savinho's 2025/26 campaign in the Premier League would be to pick at the bones of his Manchester City career. He scarcely played, starting only seven times throughout Pep Guardiola's swansong.
But he showed a lot of promise during that first season, certainly bringing more to the table than the likes of Kolo Muani has at Tottenham this year.

Savinho is a two-sided winger, effective on both wings. He might not be the most prolific in front of goal, but given that he is so young, there is just cause for optimism that he might make progress over the next few years, especially for a De Zerbi side who would entrust him with greater purpose than he has found in Manchester.
After all, if handed a part to play, he can hardly do any worse than Kolo Muani did throughout his dismal loan spell, branded "absolutely pathetic" by content creator Ben Bowman in December and only sinking further into the mire over the latter stages of the campaign.
Savinho, by contrast, actually has demonstrable evidence of his ability to thrive in the Premier League. He excelled last season, described as “one of the best U21s in Europe” by talent scout Jacek Kulig.
Though he signed a new long-term deal at the Etihad back in October 2025, the Brazilian is angling for a move to jump-start his career, which has flagged over the past year. The fact that he has been excluded from Carlo Ancelotti's World Cup underlines that.
Joining Tottenham feels like a nervy kind of deal for any talented footballer worth their salt right now, but we saw improvements after the March international break, and De Zerbi truly believes that his passion and vision can lift this club back into the limelight. The powers that be need to listen to him and sign the players he wants within his brood.
Spurs-Kolo-Muani-Brighton
It was significant that De Zerbi dropped Kolo Muani for Tottenham's final Premier League game of the season, that narrow win over Everton, ending six straight starts that repaid the Italian in pennies, if that.
Kolo Muani's time in Tottenham is over, and by signing Savinho, ENIC would steer the club in the right direction, adding the kind of pace and potency required to end the misery that has plagued this club over the past several years.
