Crystal Palace are looking to bolster the Conference League-winning squad this summer and have Hayden Hackney on their shortlist of potential additions.
According to the Daily Mail, Palace are targeting the Middlesbrough man who can replace either Daichi Kamada or Adam Wharton in the centre of the park.
Kamada will likely leave Selhurst Park when his contract expires in June, while Wharton is attracting transfer interest from around Europe.
Hackney would be a fantastic pick-up for the Eagles, having established himself as one of the better midfielders in the Championship, where Palace have successfully shopped for gems.
The 23-year-old bagged five goals and seven assists in 39 Championship outings this term, continuing his remarkable performances from last season.
He was voted the EFL Championship Player of the Season and made the team of the season.
Transfermarkt market value coordinator Ben Littlemore said, “He is a midfielder who offers everything.
“He is a fantastic passer of the ball, can glide past players, and is a goal threat too.”
Elsewhere, Palace are casting their net for Celta Vigo full-back Oscar Mingueza to provide competition for Daniel Munoz.
He is a player of interest after his excellent campaign in La Liga, but securing his signature will be far from straightforward.
The Spaniard is available on a free transfer and has attracted attention from several clubs across Europe.
Palace will face fierce competition if they want to bring him to Selhurst Park.
Newcastle United striker William Osula is another player admired by the Eagles. Unfortunately, that deal also looks complicated.
The Premier League side is expected to demand a sizeable fee for the Denmark star after a very promising campaign.
Palace may hesitate to commit such a large sum while balancing other priorities in the squad.
Both players fit Palace’s recruitment model perfectly, but landing the pair will not be easy.
