Wolves wide player full of praise for 'very good' Rob Edwards

Wolves are keen to keep Rodrigo Gomes for next season.

Rodrigo Gomes has heaped praise on ‘very good’ Wolves boss Rob Edwards as he urges for positivity ahead of a vital summer.

The club are keen to keep the versatile wide player for next season and Edwards has made a point of including him in the starting XI at the end of the season.

R.Gomes says he enjoys working with the head coach and has hopes for Wolves’ future if they can improve and maintain momentum.

“He has very good energy,” R.Gomes said of Edwards.

“Of course when he first signed, Wolves were already in a very difficult position.

“He tried and works a lot, you can see that.

“We had a gap, like the game at Aston Villa, Liverpool, Brentford - we had very good momentum there.

“We need to focus on that and the good momentum that we had this season. Improve the things that we need to improve.

“He’s a very good manager, he is still very young. I like the energy, it is very good. He is very good.”

Despite finishing bottom of the Premier League, the travelling Wolves supporters gave the players a positive reception at full-time at Turf Moor, following the 1-1 draw with Burnley.

R.Gomes was quick to apologise for the season and also thank fans for their backing, ahead of the club’s rebuild.

“It has been a difficult season and to them I just say thank you, because they were always with us, even not with the right results,” R.Gomes added.

“They have been away, at home, always with us. I just want to say thank you and sorry for the season. Next season will be better.

”It has been a difficult season for them too, but the reception from the fans was amazing, I have to thank them for that.

“They are really good for us. Hopefully next season we can give them more to be happy (about) and be with us.”
