Is he staying? West Ham star drops possible hint that he’s preparing for life in the…

Crysencio Summerville has dropped a huge hint about his immediate future.

The Dutchman enjoyed a good season in claret and blue, despite West Ham’s relegation to the Championship, with seven goals and three assists in 34 first-team outings.

That has led to increased speculation surrounding a likely exit this summer following West Ham’s drop to the Championship.

The likes of Liverpool and Arsenal have been mentioned as potential suitors for the winger.

West Ham need to sell players this summer after announcing record losses of £104m earlier this year and now having to prepare itself for the reduced revenue that comes with being outside of the Premier League.

As a result, Summerville is among a list of West Ham stars who are expected to leave London Stadium over the course of the summer.

But Summerville’s recent Instagram post hints that he might be prepared to hang around in east London to help West Ham win promotion back to the top-flight at the first time of asking.

Summerville hints at West Ham stay

The 24-year-old joined a number of his teammates on social media to comment on the club’s relegation and apologise to fans for such a torrid season.

He said: “It’s difficult to find the right words for the disappointment we all share.

“It feels like we’ve let ourselves down, but even more importantly, all of you from the Irons family who stood by us throughout this difficult season.

“One thing I do know how to express is my sincere appreciation for your unbelievable support. In the hardest moments of the season, your support gave us hope again, pushed us to fight harder, and made us believe until the very end.

“Maybe that’s also why this hurts even more, because we came so close, it makes it even harder to accept.

“Through every setback and every difficult moment, you stayed with us and kept us going. Your support never went unnoticed.

“West Ham United is too big, too special, and too powerful to stay down. The comeback starts now.”

It’s Summerville’s sign-off to his statement which has got fans asking questions and desperately holding on to the hope that he might not be sold this summer after all.

It was claimed earlier this week that Summerville would definitely be leaving the club this summer, but the player himself appears to have poured a bit of cold water on those claims with his comments.

For now, at least.
