The latest transfer headlines involving Pompey’s Championship rivals.
The transfer window is in clear sight at Fratton Park, with less than three weeks to go until business can get underway.
John Mousinho will be looking to strengthen his ranks as Pompey look to progress in the Championship next term.
There’s expected to be plenty of incomings and outgoings on the south coast as the head coach primes his squad for the Blues’ third successive campaign in the second-tier.
It is believed the 24-year-old will depart the Boras Arena this summer as he heads into the final six months of this deal.
Elsewhere, gossip and speculation continues to mount across the division, with the clock ticking towards the June 15 opening.
Here are the latest transfer headlines involving the Blues’ second-tier rivals.
Wolves pounce on Newcastle United man
Wolves have agreed a deal for departing Newcastle United defender Kieran Trippier.
Sky Sports’ Keith Downie has revealed the Championship new-boys have fended off strong interest from England and abroad to land the 35-year-old.
The report suggests the full-back will pen a two-year deal, with the options of a further 12 months, pending a medical, which will take place next week.
Trippier, who has 35 caps for England, is viewed as a key figure to lead Wolves back to the Premier League next term following their relegation.
The experienced full-back is, of course, a free agent this summer after bringing his four-and-a-half-year stay with Newcastle to a close.
The defender amassed 160 outings for the Magpies during a hugely-successful stay at St James’ Park, which included a Carabao Cup title and Champions League qualification in three of his seasons in the north east.

Bolton Wanderers are back in the Championship after securing a 4-1 triumph over Stockport County in last Sunday’s League One play-off final.
Now back in the second-tier, Steven Schumacher’s men are wasting now time in beginning their preparations for next term, with the signing of Luca Stephenson.
Transfer guru Alan Nixon has reported the Trotters are closing in on the 22-year-old’s signature ahead of the summer window.
It has been suggested Bolton have agreed a £700,000 move for the midfielder, having fended off interest from both Rangers and Celtic.
Stephenson’s stock is firmly on the rise after two successive loan stints with Dundee United, where he amassed 67 appearances in all competitions.
But despite growing interest from the two Glasgow giants, the Anfield academy graduate is set to commit his future to the Toughsheet Community Stadium.
Pompey will lock horns with Bolton next term, with the two clubs enjoying entertaining battles during their time in League One.
