Work is now firmly underway to revolutionise Leeds United’s famous home stadium.

Now that the 2025/26 season is completed and the summer break is here, the building works have firmly got underway at Elland Road to increase the stadium’s capacity from 37,645 to a huge 53,000.

Pictures and reports from the ground show that various is underway by West and North Stands, including the demolition of the ticket office and the removal of floodlights.

A temporary structure behind the North Stand, which is expected to host corporate facilities during the works, was already going up before the end of the season.

So far, the work has seen the removal of the old Portakabin that was used by away teams on their visits to Elland Road and acted as dressing rooms for Championship and Premier League outfits alike.

The cabins were supplied by York firm Britcab prior to the first season back in the top flight during Marcelo Bielsa’s managerial reign as Leeds attempted to navigate the Covid safety restrictions, but they remained in place ever since.
