Coventry City have confirmed that Bobby Thomas has signed a new contract following the club's return to the Premier League.

The defender has been a key player for the Sky Blues since his arrival in the summer of 2023 and has put pen to paper on a new deal.

Thomas went down in folklore for his goal at Blackburn Rovers with his equaliser confirming Coventry's return to the top table of English football.

The 25-year-old is now preparing for life as a Premier League player with City and is thrilled to have extended his stay.

"I'm delighted to sign a new contract," he said.

“I’ve really enjoyed my time here and it has been amazing to be a part of such a historic achievement in helping the Club get back to the Premier League.

“Those memories will live with me, my friends and my family forever and I’m excited for what’s ahead!

“The manager and all the staff have played a huge part in the Club’s development, success and mine on a personal level.

“This is a fantastic club with an incredible fanbase whose connection with me and the players has been immense since the day I walked through the door.

“I hope we can make more memories together as we continue our journey. Sky Blue Army!”

Thomas has made 129 appearances for City, registering 10 goals along the way.

As well as playing a prominent role in the Championship title-winning campaign last term, he also featured in every round as City reached the Emirates FA Cup semi-final in 2024, and helped the Sky Blues reach the play-offs the following season.

Thomas began his career at Burnley and enjoyed loan spells with Barrow, Bristol Rovers and Barnsley before his move to the CBS Arena.
