Crystal Palace have opened talks over a move to appoint Dino Toppmoller as a replacement for Oliver Glasner, according to Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg.
The Eagles enjoyed another memorable campaign, winning the Community Shield and Conference League under the Austrian, who will now depart Selhurst Park once his contract expires as the greatest manager in the club's history.
But the club must now find a replacement, and after they were left disappointed in their attempts to lure Andoni Iraola to the club, they have now opened talks over a move for the German.

Dino Toppmoller
Toppmoller, who has been described as 'one of the games most tactically adaptable coaches', made a name for himself as manager of Eintracht Frankfurt, where he ironically replaced Glasner as the manager.
The German enjoyed a fine spell in charge of the Bundesliga club but was sacked in January of this year after a string of poor results and performances, and has been out of work ever since.
Now Palace are looking at trying to make lightning strike twice by appointing the 45-year-old, with talks opened already and ongoing.
Palace were hopeful of convincing Iraola to trade Bournemouth for Selhurst Park, but reports now state that they do not expect him to join, as he mulls over other offers from AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen, rather than staying in the Premier League.
While talks are underway, it is noted that Toppmoller is not the only candidate for the role, with Steve Parish expected to speak to several options before making a final decision.

Crystal Palace Can't Get Appointment Wrong
Oliver Glasner
Replacing Glasner will arguably be the most difficult thing that Crystal Palace have ever had to do, but it's a decision that they simply cannot afford to get wrong.
Glasner has taken the club from relegation battles to winning a European trophy in just two-and-a-half years, and that trajectory has helped take the club to the next level. That will allow them to attract a higher calibre of player, but also to keep top players for a bit longer.
That is important considering how good the squad currently is, and getting the managerial decision wrong could see all that progress thrown away very quickly.
