Newcastle United will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing season under Eddie Howe in the summer transfer window. The Magpies have missed out on Europe after finishing 12th in the Premier League with a final-day defeat at Fulham.
Fans have grown disillusioned by Newcastle's project under Howe after several dismal displays - particularly over the last six months or so. The focus will now be on who stays and goes at St James' Park with several new additions also expected with the transfer window opening for clubs on June 15.
And the Magpies will have a hole to fill in their squad with Anthony Gordon sealing a £69.3m move to Barcelona. Below is a look at the latest Newcastle transfer news as well as a view on each one...
Hackney latest
Newcastle are yet to make a move for Middlesbrough star Hayden Hackney. It is reported that the midfielder has six top-flight teams in the hunt for his signature this summer.
Hackney is being looked at as a possible summer signing by Tottenham Hotspur, Everton, Leeds, Crystal Palace, Fulham and Brentford. The midfielder should cost less than the £25million tag on his shoulders last January.

The Boro star could leave the Riverside this summer and has just one year left on his current deal with the Championship side's failure to win promotion increasing his chances of an exit.
ChronicleLive says: "Newcastle will need a new midfielder with Sandro Tonali facing an uncertain future in the North East. Signing Hackney would be a gamble due to him not having Premier League experience, but paying less than £25m would be worth a punt."

Newcastle were reportedly interested in a move for Club Brugge star Joaquin Seys back in January, and now Het Nieuwsblad is claiming he will probably leave for a top European league this summer, with Porto also said to be interested.
However, it is reported that they will demand a substantial sum for his signature. Portuguese newspaperABola claim that he will not leave for less than *€*30m (around £26m).
Seys has scored seven goals and provided eight assists in 95 appearances for Brugge and has been called up to Belgium's World Cup squad.
Isaac Seelochan of ChronLive says: " A new left-back may be needed with Lewis Hall a candidate for a possible exit amid interest from Manchester United. The question will be whether Seys could make the step up.
