Albion told to ride the wave of support as Bloom backs Wembley glory bid

Head coach Dario Vidosic says he has loved the “beautiful” support his side have received going into their final with Manchester City (3pm).

Club chairman and owner Tony Bloom has urged supporters to back the Seagulls and has also given his own encouragement to their boss.

Vidosic told The Argus: “I spoke a little bit with him at the awards night and I think we feel the support from everyone.

“I was at my son's football training and everyone was coming up, saying, ‘We got the tickets’, everyone.

“Kids at different schools have got tickets, they are ready to go.

“And that's the beautiful thing, I think, about football.

“That's what it does. It brings a community together and now we're all as one.

“We all head up to London and we fight for the badge, we fight for the colours, and we know that we've got supporters with us.

“I think that's something, especially when you arrive, you can feel that emotion and I think that will definitely fill them with a lot of excitement and a lot of energy for the game, once we see our fans and once we see the support that we've got there.

“I've got no doubt that the girls will ride that emotion, ride that wave and they will play a big part as well in helping us try to achieve what we're aiming to achieve.”

Albion, captained by midfielder Maisie Symonds in her 101st appearance for the club, are expected to name the XI that started the semi-final at Liverpool but will know the bench could also be crucial.

A stoppage-time goal from Nadine Noordam, who had gone on as substitute, saw them to Wembley.

They will be widely seen as outsiders on the big day against the newly-crowned WSL champions but Vidosic said: “I've never mentioned anything once or thought of ourselves as the underdogs.

“We beat Manchester City. We have beaten Arsenal. We have gone on a very, very good run.

“I feel like there's a target on our back now as well, that we are a team that's in a good moment, playing some good football.”
