Wolverhampton Wanderers are one of the clubs in the picture to sign PSV Eindhoven’s Couhaib Driouech this summer.
The winger finished this season with nine goals and eight assists from 40 matches and played a part in helping PSV win the title.
His impressive performances have caught the attention of clubs in the Netherlands and across Europe. Wolves belong to the latter category.
The English club finished bottom of the Premier League table and need to reshape their squad for a quick return to the top flight.
Wolves provide competition
Rob Edwards’ side have Couhaib Driouech on their list for this summer. That’s according to Soccer News, who mention Wolves in a report focusing mainly on NEC Nijmegen.
The latter had an excellent season, finishing third in the table, ahead of Ajax, and qualified for the Champions League.
Driouech made only five league starts and one in the Champions League this season. He still managed to score important goals against Liverpool and Napoli. Despite the limited role, the 24-year-old has caught the attention of several clubs.
NEC are considering making an attempt to sign him but face a potential battle from other clubs. This includes Wolves and Royal Antwerp, while unnamed Spanish clubs appreciate the player.
Soccer News insist it’ll be difficult for the Dutch Champions League participant to acquire his signature, without providing an explanation.
As of now, Wolves, NEC, Royal Antwerp or another interested party has made contact with PSV.
The English club have no choice but to convince Driouech to get ahead of other suitors in the transfer race. Otherwise, it could be difficult for them.
Contract, value and agent info
Couhaib Driouech has a contract until 2029 and his value, as per Transfermarkt, is €7.5m. This is the highest value of his playing career.
Agency AEG Sports, who currently manage 10 players, are representing the PSV attacker.
He was born in the Netherlands but played for Morocco U23 and is yet to represent either at the senior level.
Two years ago, Leeds United and Rangers reportedly showed interest. It needs to be seen whether Wolves can bring him to the UK this summer.
