A Leeds United attacker has issued an end of season message with a word for the club’s fans.
Leeds United forward Joel Piroe has issued an end of season message, declaring his delight at both a personal first and club achievements with a word for the team’s fans.
Piroe went into United’s first year back in the country’s top flight as the previous season’s Championship Golden Boot winner but without having played a single minute of Premier League football.
The arrival of Dominic Calvert-Lewin then led to Piroe facing reduced game time and only 246 minutes of league football but the striker has still expressed his delight at fulfilling the dream of playing in the Premier League for the first time.
A fantastic haul of 47 points saw Leeds comfortably survive their first season back with a 14th-placed finish, an achievement saluted by Piroe in an end of season message in which he also issued his thanks to the club’s fans.
Taking to his Instagram page, Piroe wrote: “Premier League football has always been a dream. Thanks to your support, we had a great season at the highest level. Grateful for everyone who stood by us throughout the season.”
