Liverpool have pulled the trigger on the sacking of Arne Slot after a trophyless season at Anfield as three Premier League managers are now bookies favourites to take over.
Slot was shockingly sacked today (May 30) after weeks of speculation despite an amazing first season that saw the Reds lift the Premier League title.
Now just a year later, Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group (FSG) are now looking for a new manager to take the club forward, with odds immediately changing following slots sacking.
In a post on X, Liverpool confirmed the news and said: "Liverpool FC can confirm Arne Slot is to depart his role as head coach with immediate effect and that the process to appoint a successor is under way.

"He leaves with a Premier League title to his name and our deepest gratitude and appreciation."
The sacking has sent shockwaves in the Premier League as several clubs go into next season with a new manager, with bookies believing Liverpool may pick up one of the former managers or even a multi-time Europa League winning manager.
Many bookies have long linked former Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola with odds of 1/1 and 8/5, making him the clear favourite to take charge.

Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner is also among the frontrunners after deciding to leave the club following the Europa Conference League win but his odds have dropped to 9/1 following Slot's sacking.
Others also have soon to be out of contact Marco Silva and Aston Villa's Unai Emery at 10/1. Although these odds should be taken with a pinch of salt as other bookies have Glasner, Silva and Emery priced at anywhere from 14/1 to 40/1.
Outside of the Premier League, some bookies believe the club may go for another German manager following success with Liverpool Icon Jurgen Klopp. Stuttgart boss Sebastian Hoeness has odds ranging from 6/1 to 10/1. Stunningly, some are taking bets on Klopp to make a stunning return with odds of 6/1.

There are also some giving odds of 11/1 for current PSG boss Luis Enrique to make the switch to Anfield.
Liverpool's owners issued a statement following the confirmation of Slot's sacking but said nothing about his future replacement. Instead FSG paid tribute to Slot and thanked him for guiding "the club through one of the most difficult periods" with the loss of Diogo Jota.
They said: "We would like to take this opportunity to place on record our appreciation for Arne, who will always hold a special place in the history of this football club as the coach who delivered Liverpool’s 20th league title.
“That accomplishment – made all the more remarkable as it arrived in his very first season in charge – was built on outstanding coaching and leadership every single day.
“He also helped guide the club through one of the most difficult periods imaginable following the loss of Diogo. The compassion and humanity he showed throughout that time said a great deal about him as a person.

“As such, we can only wish Arne well in the next stage of his coaching career, with our expectation being that he will continue to be successful. We do so in the knowledge that his Liverpool legacy is intact and will become yet more meaningful in the years and decades to come.
