Indeed, Ralf Rangnick and Oliver Glasner both appear to be the primary targets to lead Milan’s new project. Gazzetta dello Sport reported it this morning and the links have been further fueled by reports this afternoon.
Two key meetings
On YouTube, Romano and Moretto both provided updates on Milan’s next steps this afternoon, stating that Monday and Tuesday will be two important days next week. Nothing will be completed by then, but important indications are expected.
Moretto: “Regarding Iraola I just want to clarify that yes, it’s true, Milan met him even before the season ended. They wanted to understand his availability and his ideas. But Iraola said no to Milan, he preferred other projects.
“We can also rule out Xavi for Milan, as he wants to return to the national team.”
Romano: “I want to talk about Oliver Glasner. He’s among the many names that have emerged for Milan in recent days. We can give you some more details. Tuesday will be the day of the meeting between Glasner and Milan.
“We will see how this meeting goes for both parties, if Milan like Glasner and if Glasner likes Milan. This meeting also deserves a bit more context.
Moretto: “Yes, because on Monday, there will be an important meeting between Rangnick and the Austrian Federation to understand what the future will be like.
“The federation wants to renew Rangnick’s contract, but Rangnick knows about Milan’s interest. There have been zoom calls and also a meeting between the parties,” he stated.
