Tottenham Hotspur have made an approach for an exciting young winger, but his club are already in talks with Newcastle United over a move to replace Anthony Gordon.
Gordon delighted as Newcastle search for new winger
Gordon described his move to Barcelona as “a dream come true” after signing a five-year contract with the Spanish champions.
The 25-year-old England forward, who has joined from Newcastle on a deal lasting until 2031, was finally introduced to the media on the club’s YouTube channel on Friday evening.
Barca did not disclose the transfer fee when confirming his arrival, but a reported £69.3million means the Magpies have made a significant profit on the £45m they paid Everton for his services in January 2023.
“I’m very excited and very proud to be here. It’s a dream come true. I’m part of the best team in the world, thank you.
“I always wanted Barca. Barca, like I said then, it’s the biggest club on the planet. It’s the stuff I dreamed of as a child. It really is a dream come true.”
The Magpies have already entered talks for a replacement, with reports this week revealing Real Betis forward Abde Ezzalzouli is the top target to arrive at St James' Park.

Aston Villa are interested in Ezzalzouli and have made an approach, and so too have Tottenham, who are the busiest team in the Premier League in the early stages of the summer.
