Player responds positively to Aston Villa interest – Emery’s side to negotiate with club

Over the past few weeks, the Turkish media talked about Aston Villa‘s interest in Galatasaray’s Gabriel Sara.

The Europa League winners initial sent their scout to watch the midfielder live in action.

At the start of this month, Aston Villa reportedly made contact over a potential move this summer.

On May 20th, Turkish journalist Süleyman Rodop reported of the Villans’ offer for the 26-year-old and journalist Evren Göz backed it up earlier this week.

Rodop or Göz made no mention of whether Unai Emery’s side made this offer to Sara, his club or both.

Sara open to Aston Villa move

Sabah report Gabriel Sara has responded positively to the Premier League side’s interest and is ‘waiting for a response’ from them.

This indicates he wants to see whether Unai Emery’s side will make further advances to sign him. Luckily for him, Aston Villa are preparing to sit down with Galatasaray to carry out negotiations.

The Turkish champions seem to be open to selling the former Norwich City man and have set a minimum price of €35m.

All parties would be in favour of Sara moving to Villa Park this summer. It’s now down to Aston Villa agreeing terms both with the player and the Istanbul club.

Taking Sabah’s latest report and Süleyman Rodop and Evren Göz’s recent claims, it looks like the English club made an offer to Sara.

He spent two years at Norwich City between July 2022 and August 2024. Emery’s side have an opportunity to bring him back to England in the upcoming window.

Contract, stats, value and agent info

The South American has a contract until 2029, and Transfermarkt value him at €27m, the highest value of his career.

Brazilian agent Carlos Leite, who also represents Wolves duo of João Gomes and André, is representing the Galatasaray player. Leite is expected to be busy as the other two players could also be on the move this summer.

Sara has played 2,802 minutes from 42 matches, managing six goals and five assists this season.
