Presidential candidate holds transfer meeting for Crystal Palace player in England – New meeting soon

Crystal Palace‘s Jean-Philippe Mateta is likely to change clubs this summer, after coming close to leaving in the winter market.

The striker and Crystal Palace reached an agreement with AC Milan. However, the Serie A side called off the deal after finding an issue during his medical.

Mateta overcame physical problem and has been featuring regularly for the Eagles since March.

The France international scored the winner against Rayo Vallencao in the UEFA Conference League final earlier this week.

On May 2nd, Sport Witness covered claims from Italy that he still wants to leave Crystal Palace and Milan and Juventus could be his options.

Last week, we relayed news the Rossoneri rekindled their interest in the 28-year-old, but their new management will make the final decision.

Turkey interest in Crystal Palace player

Fenerbahçe join the Serie A sides in chasing Jean-Philippe Mateta. That’s according to Sabah, who cover the efforts put in by the Turkish club to try and sign him.

The Yellow Canaries are scheduled to have a presidential election on June 6-7th, and the candidates are already working on potential signings.

Fenerbahçe presidential candidate Aziz Yıldırım has said he’s close to finalising deals for two strikers.

The newspaper insists the Crystal Palace star is one of them and Yıldırım made a trip to England to meet his agent. He asked the representative about the conditions needed to secure Mateta’s services.

Yıldırım will have a new meeting in the coming days, this time with both the player and Crystal Palace. A move depends on the former winning the election and if not, all these efforts would be in vain.

What seems certain for now is that the Frenchman is on his way out of Selhurst Park. His next destination needs to be clarified.

Contract, value and agent info

Jean-Philippe Mateta has just over a year left on his contract and is valued at €35m by Trasnfermarkt.

Paul Latouche represents the attacker, and Crystal Palace have to sell him this summer to avoid losing him for nothing in 2027.
