Bournemouth’s second win of the season, after a 1-0 win over Wolves, this was a trip to a Spurs side who had started the season well under new boss Thomas Frank.
While they then plummeted down the table, the hosts had just beaten Manchester City 2-0 at the Etihad, so came into the game unbeaten and with some confidence.
But the Cherries were superb and played Spurs off the park, restricting them to just five shots all game and none in the first half as Evanilson’s fifth minute goal was the difference.
That showed Bournemouth to be a top side despite their summer departures, and it was something of a statement of intent for the season to come.

After that Spurs result, good form saw the Cherries sat second after nine games, but a drop in form came next, with this game coming after eight games without victory.
The lowest point of the season was this defeat at the Gtech Community Stadium. Andoni Iraola has since said this was a turning point in their campaign, as the group recognised something needed to change and they needed to respond.
A dire first half performance saw their hosts lead 2-0 at the break, and 3-0 after 51 minutes. An Antoine Semenyo goal was nothing but a consolation, as Kevin Schade completed his hattrick in stoppage time.

That winless run extended to 11, but good performances came in a draw at Chelsea and in defeat to Arsenal. It was the Gunners’ north London rivals who were Bournemouth’s victims as they finally returned to winning ways.
Mathys Tel gave Spurs the lead, before Evanilson and Junior Kroupi netted to turn the game in the Cherries’ favour.
Joao Palhinha equalised with 12 minutes to play, but Antoine Semenyo, in his final game for the club, powered into the bottom corner in stoppage time to hand Bournemouth a perfect parting gift and all three points to end the run without a win.

Another dramatic stoppage time winner, this time from Amine Adli, delivered another huge three points for the Cherries.
Evanilson and Alex Jimenez gave the Cherries a two-goal lead, before Virgil van Dijk got one back for the Reds at the end of the first half.
Dominik Szoboszlai drew the visitors level, but Adli bundled home the loose ball from a James Hill long throw in stoppage time to trigger sensational scenes at the Vitality Stadium.
It was the club’s first win since Semenyo’s departure, and more than proved they could cope without the player who had been their talisman in the first half of the season.

After an unusually long break between games, the Cherries headed to the Emirates hoping to disrupt the Gunners’ charge for the title and to continue their unbeaten run as they started to eye up European qualification.
What followed was a sensational performance against the side which would go on to win the title.
Junior Kroupi gave Bournemouth the lead, before Viktor Gyokeres equalised from the penalty spot after a Ryan Christie handball.
But the Cherries were in control and Alex Scott’s goal 16 minutes from time sealed a superb victory in north London.

A night that will live long in the memory for Cherries fans.
It was the night that secured European football, and, heading into the game, just a point was needed for the club to confirm a top seven finish.
Junior Kroupi curled home to give Bournemouth the halftime lead as much the better side, and that continued in the second half.
While they missed a number of good chances to cement their advantage, and Erling Haaland equalised in stoppage time, the draw was enough to seal their place in continental competition for next season.
