Steven Gerrard has labelled his chances of returning to management as only a “maybe”.
The 46-year-old immediately shot to the top of the bookies’ odds for the Burnley vacancy following Scott Parker’s departure at the end of April.
While the early speculation was played down, the Liverpool legend remains out in front ahead of the likes of Brian Barry-Murphy, Robbie Keane, Craig Bellamy and John Eustace.

“I’m getting lots of time with my kids, which I’ve missed while I have been coaching, so at the moment I would say maybe.”
Prior to his move to Saudi, Gerrard took charge of both Rangers and Aston Villa.
He led Rangers to the Scottish Premiership title in 2020/21 without losing a game, ending Celtic’s nine-year dominance.
But after moving to Villa Park in November 21, Gerrard was unable to replicate a similar impact, sacked in October 2022 after winning just two of Villa’s first 12 league games of the season.
