Arne Slot: A place in LFC history after league title No.20

After an assured beginning to 2024-25, Liverpool steadily moved through the gears under Slot to build up a lead at the top of the Premier League.

A clutch spell through the autumn to the turn of the year featured a spell of 20 wins, three draws and no defeats in all competitions.

As belief and confidence swelled, so too did their margin as league leaders: double digits in the New Year.

It was an advantage never to be surrendered.

Indeed, Slot’s side reached the closing weeks of the campaign having lost only once in the top flight and with the trophy soon in touching distance.

The Reds were confirmed as England’s champions again with four matches to spare – a 5-1 home win over Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield in April 2025 setting off one of the stadium’s greatest parties.

“Everybody could see what it means for the fans to win it, and that is what makes it special and, in the end, for us as well,” said Slot of the club’s first title victory with supporters present since 1990.

“Because you play football for yourself, for your family, but definitely also for the fans, and we are privileged that we can play it in front of these \[fans\] because these ones are special.”

He was the 10th man to oversee championship glory for Liverpool.
