A young Leeds United defender has received a first senior international call up.

A young Leeds United defender has received his first senior international call up after being brought into the Wales squad for next week’s friendlies against Ghana and Romania.

Jayden Lienou joined Leeds from Manchester City’s Academy last summer and impressed for the club’s under-21s before moving to the fringes of the first team for the end of the Premier League campaign.

The 18-year-old made the bench for the end of season clashes against Brighton and Tottenham for which he was an unused substitute.

Already capped for Wales at up to under-19s level, the young Whites full back has now been called up by Wales boss Craig Bellamy and brought into the squad for next week’s friendlies against Ghana and Romania.
