Newcastle United's Sandro Tonali has been spotted in crowd at major sporting event. Viewers of the WWE Clash in Italy caught sight of the Italian international midfielder in the audience this evening.
WWE is holding it's first premium live event in Italy, featuring four championship matches. They include champions Becky Lynch, Cody Rhodes, Rhea Ripley and Roman Reigns.
But as the crew introduced famous people in the crowd between matches, Tonali stood up and waved and received a cheer from the crowd.
WrestleTalk shared a photo on X of the footballing legend in the crowd, saying: "Sandro Tonali is at WWE Clash in Italy!" One Newcastle United fan responded: "My midfielder let's go", while another person added: "Welcome to United, Mate".
It comes after Tonali has been linked with a move away from Tyneside in the summer transfer window, with the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal. Earlier today, ChronicleLive reported that Alan Shearer believes it would take an extraordinary offer for Newcastle to consider selling the 26-year-old, who they paid £55million to sign three years ago.
He feels any club wanting to sign Sandro Tonali this summer must stump up at least £90million to prise him away from St James' Park.
Shearer said: "I would like to see him stay at Newcastle, because I think there's a real talent there, and I think he links really well with Bruno, but I don't know his or the club's situation."
He added: "Again, I don't know the situation in terms of the finances, but if they're getting a huge figure like £90m then it might be best that it works for Newcastle. If Newcastle are selling Gordon for £70m and Anderson's going for over £100m, then, it would take an awful amount of money to get him out of Newcastle."
