One of Liverpool's longest-serving players will approach the club's next manager and 'inform him that he considers his tenure complete', according to reports in Italy.
Following their decision to part ways with Arne Slot, Liverpool will open formal talks with Andoni Iraola in the coming days.
Iraola, who led Bournemouth to a record-high sixth-place finish in the Premier League this season, will be met with some potentially challenging decisions if he does take the job at Anfield this summer.
The future of goalkeeper Alisson Becker has been a talking point in recent months. He has been linked with a move to Juventus but last month, it was suggested that Liverpool planned to keep him for another year.
Alisson's entourage is said to have approached Liverpool to discuss releasing him a year before his contract expired in 2027 but after losing Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson and Ibrahima Konate on free transfers, the club had no intention of letting him leave.
However, a new report from Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport claims the Brazilian will push to join the Serie A side.

In fact, an agreement in principle between Alisson and Juventus has already been reached, which is believed to be a three-year contract worth between €4 and €5 million plus bonuses.
Alisson, meanwhile, is 'particularly intrigued' by the possibility of ending his career at an Italian club.
Alisson will 'tell next manager' his decision
As mentioned by Gazzetta dello Sport, Alisson will contact Liverpool's new head coach, which looks set to be Andoni Iraola, to inform him that he considers his time at the club over.
"Iraola will decide whether to confirm the goalkeeper's non-transferability or permanently launch Giorgi Mamardashvili, acquired last summer for around thirty million, as a starter for the future," the report adds.
"Juve is waiting, at least until the start of the World Cup. And since yesterday, he has some more hope."
Back in April, Slot refused to rule out Alisson's departure after being asked about his future.
“I think the club is run in a certain way and we make decisions that the club thinks are in the best interests of the club,” he said. “And it could mean this is the reason why, it could mean another good argument why we acted how we acted.
“I think the history of all the transfers shows that nothing was done without a purpose or without thinking about it. Look, the people who make these decisions take everything into account. They try to make the best decisions with the interest of the club."
Slot added: “It (experience) is definitely one argument to keep him but there are other arguments. That is a decision the club has to make if that is needed. In the end, he still has one year.”
