Vidosic hoping to strike quickly in transfer market after cup final defeat

Head coach Dario Vidosic and his technical staff will review the 2025-26 season and the squad in the coming days.

But Vidosic suggested there could news of incoming talent soon.

Albion lost to Manchester City in the final of the Adobe WFA Cup having finished seventh in the WSL.

Their stated goal remains to break into the top four although Sunday’s final offered more evidence as to how tough that will be.

Asked whether transfer activity was already under way behind the scenes, Vidosic told The Argus: “A little bit. The club has started so there's a couple that will hopefully be announced relatively soon.

“I think it will be a continuous work, especially that the season has come to an end.

“I haven't asked too much or been too involved in it, just trying to focus really on the FA Cup final.”

Vidosic has developed an attractive style of play which was in evidence during the first half-hour at Wembley and even in moments during the rest of the game.

He said: “I'll review the whole season and hopefully we will see how we go in the summer in terms of players that potentially could be coming to the club.

“We always want to try to play to player strengths.

“The idea of how we want to play will remain the same, but it's always depending on the players.

“We can't ask someone to do something they can't do or they are not comfortable with.

“But we want to keep taking these steps.

“We can gain a lot of confidence now, not just from today but also from the previous weeks from what we've been able to do against some really good teams.

“It fills us with a lot of confidence through the disappointment.

“This will hurt for a little while but hopefully we can use that motivation and that fire for next season, starting in pre-season.”
