Nottingham Forest now plotting move for "highly-rated" player who Rangers are determined to keep

Nottingham Forest are now plotting a move for a "highly-rated" Rangers midfielder, who the Scottish Premiership side are determined to keep.

Morgan Gibbs-White and Elliot Anderson attracting transfer interest

After a move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium dramatically fell through last summer, it has been widely reported Morgan Gibbs-White is once again attracting interest from the north London side, off the back of a remarkable campaign for Forest.

The 26-year-old weighed in with 15 goals and seven assists in 37 Premier League matches, playing a major role in the Tricky Trees securing safety, but it still wasn't enough to be selected in Thomas Tuchel's World Cup squad.

Opening up on how it felt to be snubbed by England, Gibbs-White said: "Any kid's dream growing up is to go to a World Cup or make the World Cup squad list. I was disappointed, really disappointed.

"But I was happy with how I performed towards the last end of the season and I knew that in myself, I couldn't do any more. I'm wishing all the boys all the luck, all the best wishes because I genuinely believe that this group is an incredible group of players and they've got everything that they need to win it.

“It was an incredible call [with Thomas Tuchel] and I respect him for going out of his way to explain to me why."

The six-cap England international isn't the only midfielder attracting interest, with Manchester United ready to make a move for Elliot Anderson, and should at least one of his midfielders move on, Vitor Pereira will need to strengthen in the middle of the park this summer.

Nottingham Forest eyeing move for Rangers midfielder

According to a report from TEAMtalk, Nottingham Forest are now plotting a move for Rangers midfielder Calum Adamson, although the Scottish side are determined to keep hold of the 18-year-old, and they are currently attempting to tie him down to a new deal.

A number of Championship sides have entered the race for the youngster, alongside Crystal Palace, given that he impressed on loan at Alloa Athletic throughout the 2025-26 campaign, and he has been lauded as "highly-rated" by journalist Graeme Bailey.

The teenager displayed a keen eye for goal while on loan at Alloa, registering five goals and five assists in 36 matches for the Scottish League One side, who narrowly missed out on promotion, as a result of losing 3-2 to Stenhousemuir on aggregate in the play-off final.

However, Adamson is still very young, and remains unproven above the third tier of Scottish football, which suggests Forest could do with signing a more experienced midfielder this summer, and Championship Player of the Season Hayden Hackney has also emerged as a target.
