Pompey, Bristol City, Middlesbrough, Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest have been linked with a move for Rangers youngster Calum Adamson.
Pompey have been credited with an interest in young Rangers midfielder Calum Adamson.
The report suggests Championship rivals Middlesbrough and Bristol City have all ‘conducted extensive scouting work’ on the 18-year-old, who flourished during a successful loan stint with Scottish League One outfit Alloa Athletic.
It has been reported Premier League duo Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest both have Adamson on their transfer radar as his standing in the game grows.
The 14-capped Scotland youth international does also have interest north of the border, with Kilmarnock and St Mirren both believed to be keen.

The midfielder’s stock is firmly on the rise after an outstanding maiden loan stint away from Ibrox.
Although Alloa missed out on promotion from Scotland’s third division, Adamson was a regular fixture in Andy Graham’s engine room, netting three goals and collecting five assists in 30 league appearances last term.
With interest growing in the teenager, Rangers are looking to tie the 18-year-old down to a new long-term deal this summer as he enters the final 12 months of current terms with Danny Rohl’s side.
Although the playmaker has yet to make his senior debut at Ibrox, he has appeared in four matchday squads for the Gers, of which three have been in the Europa League.
The report does claim Pompey and their two Championship rivals are actively searching the market for emerging British talent, with Adamson reportedly one of those earmarked.
