Manchester United goalkeeper Senne Lammens has been named the Premier League Transfer of the Season.
He beat Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Leeds United), Rayan Cherki (Manchester City), Viktor Gyokeres (Arsenal), Joao Pedro (Chelsea), Adrien Truffert (Bournemouth) and Granit Xhaka (Sunderland) to the award.
Lammens’ triumph further highlights the progress United made last term after securing a third-place finish in the Premier League.
Captain Bruno Fernandes was also named the division’s Player of the Season and won the Football Writers’ Association Footballer of the Year award.
Kobbie Mainoo and manager Michael Carrick were also nominated for the Young Player and Manager of the Season awards respectively.
Lammens enjoyed a superb debut campaign at Man United
Lammens joined from Belgian outfit Royal Antwerp last summer for £18.2 million plus add-ons before last summer’s transfer deadline.
He made his debut in the 2-0 home win over Sunderland in October and went on to feature in 33 games across all competitions.
Lammens made 79 saves and kept eight clean sheets in the Premier League. He also prevented more expected goals (6.39) than any other shot-stopper in the division this term, per Sky Sports.
He completed 59 percent of his passes and made just one error leading to goal throughout the campaign.
The 23-year-old was twice nominated for the league’s Save of the Month award. He was also short-listed for United’s Player of the Month award on two occasions.
The Red Devils’ ‘unsung hero‘ made his senior debut for Belgium in November’s thrashing over Liechtenstein in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, underlining his strong start at the club.
Lammens has now been named in Belgium’s squad for this summer’s World Cup. He will be hoping to make his debut at a major tournament for his country.
