Sandro Tonali filmed at WWE event as Bruno and Woltemade play in Sunday night wins

On Sunday night, Bruno Guimaraes and Nick Woltemade were in action for their countries as they warmed up for the World Cup, while Sandro Tonali had very different plans.

Italy once again failed to qualify for the World Cup, which, as someone who really got into football in the 90s, feels absolutely insane.

With no World Cup football to look forward to, Sandro Tonali decided to take in an entirely different 'sport' while he is back home, as the Newcastle United midfielder was spotted by TV cameras in the crowd at the WWE.

Italy has a couple of friendlies this week, with Tonali expected to be involved after missing Newcastle's final game of the season against Fulham after picking up an injury in the warm-up.

Bruno Guimaraes got 45 minutes for Brazil

Meanwhile, two of Newcastle's World Cup stars were in action on Sunday night as Germany and Brazil continued their pre-World Cup prep.

Bruno Guimaraes played the first half for Brazil as they battered Panama 6-2. Bruno didn't contribute to any of Brazil's six goals and was replaced by his good mate Lucas Paqueta at the break.

Panama is in England's World Cup group, and despite scoring an absolute worldie, they look like they should be a pretty easy scalp.

Nick Woltemade was given a cameo for Germany

Nick Woltemade was handed 17 minutes of action for Germany as they swept aside Finland 4-0.

It wasn't enough time for the big striker to make much of an impact, but at least it's a good indication that he's likely to be part of Julian Nagelsmann's plans in North America.

Malick Thiaw was also in the squad but was an unused substitute.
