Andoni Iraola talks “expected to move quickly”
Nothing has been confirmed yet but everything is pointing towards Iraola becoming the next head coach of Liverpool.
Since Arne Slot‘s departure was announced on Saturday, Iraola has been the only real candidate mentioned by the media, and reporter Ben Jacobs has provided the latest update on the appointment process.
He wrote: “Talks between Andoni Iraola and Liverpool are already underway and are expected to move quickly.”

So, it looks like the ex-Bournemouth coach is to be the next Liverpool manager, but why didn’t the Reds go for Xabi Alonso or someone else?
Journalist Chris Williams explained: “Alonso was ruled out in March due to demands for greater control over football operations than Liverpool were prepared to grant.”
Meanwhile, the *Times*‘ Paul Joyce did note Liverpool have interest in PSG’s Luis Enrique, but they “remain convinved” he will stay in Paris.

After Konate announced he will be leaving Liverpool after five years at the club, Henry Jackson reviewed probably his most difficult season at the club:
“What’s worth stressing is that the death of Konate’s father in January was something the Liverpool defender had to battle with during those struggling months.
“That and the heartbreaking passing of Diogo Jota in July, as he and his Reds teammates lost a great friend.
“To ask any footballer to continue playing at the very highest level in such a testing period is a big ask, and Konate deserves some leeway.”
