He wants to join: Leeds eyeing move to sign 'extremely dangerous' star compared to Vini Jr -…

Leeds United are looking to bolster their squad this summer after cementing their Premier League status, and now a top target is ready to make the switch.

The Whites finished the season in 14th place, a fine achievement after a slow start in the division, before manager Daniel Farke switched his formation to a back five and added a new level of defensive stability, which helped them to climb the table.

Now the German is keen to make more additions to help take the team to the next level, and avoid a relegation scrap once again, which has seen them look to add more firepower to the squad.

Leeds Eyeing Leo Scienza Deal

Leo Scienza

According to a report by Football Insider, Leeds United are eyeing up a move to sign Southampton sensation Leo Scienza this summer following the Spygate scandal.

The Saints reached the playoff final but were found guilty of spying on opponents throughout the season, which saw them expelled from the competition and deducted four points for next season in the Championship.

Now a host of the club's top players are expected to be on the move as a result, including Scienza, who is likely to make a push to join a Premier League side.

“Southampton are going to be in a lot of trouble,” Mick Brown told Football Insider.

“Not only will they miss out on the money involved in getting promoted to the Premier League, but there are players in the squad who will want to move on.

“Somebody like Scienza, who has interest from top clubs like Leeds, it could be really hard to keep hold of him if that interest comes to anything. The player himself will be keen to make the move and the club might not have a choice.

“This is the issue with remaining in the Championship because they may well get promoted next year, but a lot of the players won’t want to stick around.

“Scienza isn’t the only one, there are a few who Premier League clubs will be looking at, and if the money is right then Southampton will struggle.”

Leeds Likely to Push for New Forwards

Wilfried Gnonto Leeds

With Leeds likely to see the likes of Wilfried Gnonto and Joel Piroe move on this summer following a lack of regular game time this season, it opens up a spot for a player like Scienza to join.

The Brazilian, who has been compared to Vini Jr, is coming off a fantastic season in the Championship, and is clearly ready to make the big step up to the top level.

Bringing him into the fold for next season would give the Whites a big boost for the new campaign, and would add a top player with a match-winning ability to the squad for a fairly modest fee.
