Idea of swap deal for Tottenham player floated – Club want to use 14 G/A attacker as bargaining chip

Juventus are considering signing Tottenham Hotspur‘s Destiny Udogie this summer.

In February, Sport Witness covered claims from Italy that Udgoie is the chosen one for the Serie A side for left-back position.

A month later, we relayed news of the Old Lady circling around the Tottenham player. They were hoping for the Premier League side’s relegation to sign him for a lower price.

That won’t happen after Robert De Zerbi’s side avoided drop to the Championship on the last day.

However, the Turin club continue to have the 23-year-old on their agenda for the next window.

Juve could offer striker to Tottenham

Calciomercato.it cover the latest on Juventus’ interest in Destiny Udogie and their plan.

Andrea Cambiaso is the first choice left-back at the Italian club and his future remains uncertain.

If Cambiaso were to leave this summer, Luciano Spalletti’s side want to replace him with the Tottenham Hotspur player.

Udogie, who joined the north London club from Udinese in 2022, won’t close the door on returning to Italy.

Juve plan to use Jonathan David as a ‘bargaining chip’ to sign the Italy international. The striker arrived on a free transfer last summer and managed eight goals and five assists from 46 matches this season.

Three months ago, Sport Witness relayed news of the Canada international as an option for Roberto De Zerbi’s side.

Paris Saint-Germain’s Randal Kolo Muani spent this season on loan at Spurs. His exit could see the latter to look for a new striker and David can be an option.

Juve aren’t convinced of the 26-year-old striker’s performances and are open to offloading him. He’s valued at €30-35m and is sought after by Lyon and in the Premier League.

The Old Lady could offer David to Tottenham in exchange for Udgoie, who has a similar value as that of the Canadian. In other words, Juve are thinking of a direct swap deal.

Tottenham’s stance unknown

It’s unclear whether Spurs will let Destiny Udgoie leave or willing to accept Jonthan David as part of the swap deal.

For the direct exchange deal to go through, several pieces need to fall in place. The first of which will be Andrea Cambiaso’s exit.

If this happens, then Juventus have to convince Tottenham Hotspur. That won’t be simple, especially with involvement of multiple agents and differences in values.
