Club keeping close eye on Bournemouth star at World Cup – Name on list to be watched

Juventus officials are planning to keep a close eye on Bournemouth forward Justin Kluivert at the World Cup this summer.

Gazzetta dello Sport report that the Dutchman is in Juventus’ eyeline as they plan changes to their squad in the coming months.

Bournemouth star added to list

The newspaper reports that Justin Kluivert has been added to Juventus’ summer transfer shortlist. The Italian club are planning to keep a close eye on him at the World Cup, where he’ll be a part of Ronald Koeman’s Netherlands squad.

The forward’s ‘rebirth’ under Andoni Iraola at Bournemouth has not gone unnoticed. The Spaniard’s decision to move him centrally resulted in a ‘season above double figures’ and a spot in the Netherlands World Cup squad.

Juventus currently favour a move for Real Madrid’s Brahim Diaz, but Kluivert is the alternative option. In fact, he is ‘ready to offer himself’ as a direct transfer rival to the Spaniard.

His body of work in the Premier League is already impressing but Juventus also value that fact that he’s adjusted to Serie A.

Serie A second chance

While his time at Roma earlier in his career might have been disappointing, the feeling is that is very much behind him. The 27-year-old has proven himself in the Premier League. Now he could be ready to prove himself in Serie A again.

There’s no mention of any efforts to make the transfer happen yet. Or what valuation Bournemouth would put on their player.

He is currently valued at €25m by the likes of Transfermarkt. The key could be his contract, which runs until 2028. That means this summer could be the last opportunity for Bournemouth to secure a top fee before he enters the final year of his deal next summer.

For now, it seems that Juventus are simply considering him as an option. If he impresses at the World Cup, that option could become more concrete.
