Juventus have decided to sign a new goalkeeper this summer, following the struggles of Michele Di Gregorio, and Mike Maignan is at the top of their wish list.
Di Gregorio received a lot of praise during his time at Monza and was even linked with Milan at one point, as a potential replacement for Maignan. However, he ended up joining Juventus instead, with the hopes of taking the next step.

So far, however, it has been two seasons that can only be described as subpar. He has been far too inconsistent and in quite a few games, he has cost Juventus some points. As such, it’s no surprise that the Bianconeri are looking to sign a new first-choice goalkeeper.
Contacts made
According to this morning’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport (see photo at the bottom), Juventus are keeping an eye on quite a few goalkeepers. Tottenham’s Guglielmo Vicario is one of them, but the Bianconeri have also probed the ground for a previous target: Mike Maignan.
There have been exploratory contacts between the parties, even if Juventus know that it might be a difficult signing. Indeed, a lot will depend on Milan’s management (yet to be appointed) and the direction of the project, which could convince Maignan to remain.
In short, everything depends on how the French goalkeeper will feel about the future of Milan. If he decides to leave, then Juventus will surely step in to turn those exploratory contacts into something concrete instead.
