According to Calciomercato.com, Spalletti has already absorbed a series of setbacks: Alisson Becker’s unavailability, the collapse of the Bernardo Silva pursuit and Dusan Vlahovic’s contract situation, but remains fully focused on building the squad he needs for next season.

The moment to resign, had he wanted to, would have been his post-season meeting with John Elkann and CEO Damien Comolli. He instead chose to stay.

Spalletti targets Kim Min-jae, Martinez and Sorloth as Juventus rebuild takes shape

Spalletti is working methodically along what he considers the spine of a winning team: goalkeeper, centre-back, central midfielder, attacking midfielder and striker.

For each position a primary target and an alternative exist.

Emiliano Martinez and Guglielmo Vicario in goal; Kim Min-jae or Joel Ordonez in defence; Leon Goretzka in midfield despite wage complications; Brahim Diaz at attacking midfielder; and both Sorloth and Kolo Muani up front. The coach personally called Sorloth to push for his signature.

Spalletti is fully aware that without Champions League football, not every target will be achievable. He has accepted that reality and will work with whatever the club can deliver.
