Emi Martinez has agreed terms with Serie A giants Juventus, according to reports in Italy.

Website Football Italia say multiple sources including Sky Sport Italia and Corriere dello Sport are reporting the Aston Villa goalkeeper has agreed a three-year deal. Journalist Gianluca Di Marzio is claiming the length of the contract has been agreed but not the salary.

That could signal an end to his near-six-year Villa career that has seen him 256 appearances for the club and play a part in two Champions League qualification campaign while also ending Villa’s 30-year wait for major honours.

Martinez is currently away with Argentina as they put the finishing touches to their World Cup preparations, albeit he has not played since the Europa League final and sat out his nation’s warm-up games against Honduras and Iceland.

However, any transfer remains contingent on Juventus reaching an agreement with Villa, who have the 33-year-old under contract until 2029. That agreement does not yet exist.

Indeed Corriere dello Sport claim Villa want around €10million, but Sky Sports suggests Juve effectively want the ‘keeper for free given his age and desire to move to Turin.
