Aston Villa goalkeeper Emi Martinez is reportedly committed to joining Juventus this summer.

The 33-year-old, who is aiming to win consecutive World Cups with Argentina, appears open to leaving Villa in the coming weeks.

Last summer, Martinez was keen to take on a new challenge in his career and had hoped to join Manchester United, before they opted to sign Senne Lammens on deadline day instead.

However, after winning the Europa League last month and once again playing a key role in helping Villa secure a top-four finish for the second time in three years, Martinez would leave as a club legend if he departs.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Martinez “is very committed and wants only Juventus.” He also reports that the goalkeeper is already looking for a new home in Turin.

What remains to be agreed is the transfer fee Juventus will pay Villa. The Premier League club are believed to be asking for around £15 million, although the Italian side are attempting to negotiate a lower price.

Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak is reportedly Juventus’ alternative target should Villa’s asking price for Martinez prove too high.
