According to CalcioMercato.it, the relationship between Inter and Madrid has already produced significant movement this summer, with former Nerazzurri coach Mourinho’s return to the dugout and Dumfries’ move imminent from San Siro.

Now attention turns to two Madrid players surplus to requirements, Franco Mastantuono and Eduardo Camavinga, though the situations surrounding each are markedly different.

Camavinga emerges as priority target for Inter & Chivu despite €50m Real Madrid valuation

Mastantuono endured a disappointing first season at the Bernabeu and faces an uphill battle for playing time under Mourinho given the competition for places.

Real Madrid would prefer a loan with an option to buy rather than a permanent sale, preserving their long-term interest in the Argentine.

However, Chivu’s coaching staff are understood to be only lukewarm on the player from a tactical perspective at this stage.

Camavinga represents a far more attractive proposition for Cristian Chivu, who sees the Frenchman’s profile as ideally suited to his midfield requirements, Juventus are also known admirers.

The obstacle here is financial: Real Madrid want at least €50 million for Camavinga, a figure that currently sits outside Inter’s budget for a new midfielder without significant sales first.
