Iraklis were unable to get a positive result from their away trip to North Geelong. The final 2–1 score left the Greek Australian side disappointed. Despite the setback, however, they remained alone at the top of the table, helped by Melbourne Knights’ loss to Brunswick Juventus.
The result caused concern among Iraklis supporters, who are seeing their team struggle under the pressure of first place. The Northcote based club must return quickly to positive results if it wants to stay at the top of the standings.
Leonidas recorded a major home victory on Friday night. The struggling Brunswick side defeated Eltham Redbacks 2–1, giving supporters present at the ground plenty to be proud of.
This marked City’s third consecutive win, suggesting the team has overcome its recent problems, regained confidence, and now looks ready to push strongly for a top-six finish.
Nea Hellas left Western United’s ground with a point. The bottom-placed Port Melbourne side fought hard, showed some positive elements on the pitch, and ultimately secured something better than another defeat. The final 0–0 frustrated the home side, who had expected to claim all three points.
Whether this positive performance and the single point can mark the start of a new phase for the historic club remains to be seen. Only time and results will show.

League leaders and one of the season’s biggest surprises, Malvern City, suffered their third consecutive defeat. The Greek Australian side, based in Knox this season, hosted Essendon Royals in a match that turned into a nightmare for the home team.
The visitors were more determined and more effective, leaving as winners with a 4–2 scoreline.
Despite the loss, the newly promoted City remains top with 37 points, while second-placed Valley Suns sit just behind with 36.
Clarinda secured an important home victory against Moreland City. The “red whites” claimed all three points with a 2–1 result, moving the Greek Australian side into 12th place in the standings.
The match between Bayside Argonauts and Box Hill United was postponed due to lighting issues at the Argonauts’ ground.
