Juventus were keen on re-signing Liverpool‘s Federico Chiesa in January. A deal proved complex then and the same can apply this summer.
At one point in January, it felt like the winger would indeed return to Turin. The Italian press were very optimistic and Chiesa was keen on the move, with Sport Witness covering the transfer closely.
Liverpool’s demands made sure nothing moved. The attacker then ended up regretting the stay, as he didn’t make a single start in 2026 and it reflected Arne Slot’s perception of the Italian.
This time, even if clubs are interested in Chiesa, he’s got other ideas.
Winger wants to play under Iraola
TuttoJuve’s Mirko Di Natale has tweeted about the 28-year-old, noting links with both Juve and Como.
However, Slot’s exit has changed Chiesa’s mind about leaving Liverpool. He wants to establish himself under Andoni Iraola and is ‘determined’ to turn things around on Merseyside.
This will only change if the Reds transfer list him and want him gone. If that doesn’t happen, Chiesa wants to dig his heels in and prove himself.
Decision makes little sense
Federico Chiesa

This feels another confusing decision from Chiesa, who has done little to be handed a chance under Iraola.
A side like Como can hand the winger Champions League football. Juve aren’t playing in that competition but he can play regularly in Turin.
Besides, staying at Liverpool is another risk. If things don’t go in his favour, he would waste more crucial months of his career. That would’ve been viable if the winger was younger, but at 28, a player of his skillset and ability should be playing more.
