Lloyd Kelly had a decent season with Juventus and the defender is attracting attention from Newcastle United, Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest.
In the 2024/25 season, the Englishman was the subject of major criticism from the Italian media. Sport Witness covered this extensively, as the defender couldn’t quite settle in Italy for the first six months.
Soon, Juve signed him permanently from the Magpies. Things improved as Kelly made 46 appearances in all competitions in the 2025/26 season. Juve failed to qualify for the Champions League but Luciano Spalletti’s trust in him was clear to see.
Despite that, his exit will hand the Old Lady a major capital gain.
As Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest hover, they can take advantage of that thirst for cash.
Juve looking for capital gain
TuttoJuve believe Kelly is ready to become a star in the Premier League.
Juve value him at €35m, having paid less than €20m to sign him permanently in the summer of 2025.
As of now, Aston Villa and Newcastle United are ‘in the front row’ for his signature. Nottingham Forest are also ‘closely monitoring’ his situation as well. They can step in, if they sense an opening.
The emergence of interest from England is another reason why Juve will consider Kelly’s sale. There is also an indication that they can accept offers less than €35m as that too will go down as a capital gain.
England return matter of time
Lloyd Kelly
Kelly returning to the Premier League may be a matter of time. Slowly, his value is reaching a point where other Italian clubs will struggle to execute a permanent deal for him.
Juve’s failure to qualify for the Champions League means they will consider offers for every player apart from Kenan Yildiz. Kelly has an obvious market in England, probably more so than any other player in their squad.
This should give hope to Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest. He can fill in easily at centre-back in a back three or back four. He can also slot in at left-back, if needed.
