Former Real Madrid striker and Croatia legend Davor Suker talked to Radio MARCA and delivered some intriguing quotes about Luka Modric, who will be making his debut in the 2026 FIFA World Cup against England today.
“They asked me about his future today and I believe something will happen with Real Madrid this summer. I am sure that he will return, but I don’t know in what kind of role. Let’s wait until the end of the World Cup and see what happens then. I can’t go into more details, let’s leave some options open,” said Suker.
Modric left Real Madrid as a free agent last summer and his contract with Milan expires this month. It’s unclear if he is going to retire after the World Cup or not, but if he does, he could very well be an ambassador or advisor for Los Blancos, which is almost certainly what Suker is suggesting.
