Manchester United are interested in signing Juventus midfielder Khephren Thuram, according to Italian publication Corriere dello Sport (page 23).
Thuram has been a key player for the Bianconeri over the past two seasons, but his future is uncertain as the club need to balance their books by June 30.
The Turin giants require a capital gain of £10-11 million by the end of the month and have opened the door for the midfielder’s departure.
Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia are prepared to match Juventus’ valuation between £35m and £39m, but Thuram does not appear interested in leaving Europe.
He has snubbed an approach from Galatasaray and prefers a switch to the Premier League, with Manchester United among the clubs ‘interested’.
Thuram speculation could be agent-driven
The Frenchman had a relatively good 2025/26 season with the Bianconeri. He managed nine goal contributions from 45 appearances as the left-sided central midfielder.
The former Nice man completed 87 percent of his passes in Serie A. He won four duels per outing for Juventus alongside three recoveries, two tackles and one clearance.
Despite his good statistics, United may not pursue a deal for him. They have already agreed a deal to land Atalanta’s Ederson, who has a similar profile but had a better season.
The focus now appears on signing West Ham United’s Mateus Fernandes. The Hammers want as much as £85m for the Portuguese, but United hope to negotiate a lower fee upfront.
United are in no rush to finalise a move until the Hammers lower their terms. A third midfielder could be signed, but that depends on Manuel Ugarte leaving. He is presently at the World Cup.
Hence, no decision may be made on Ugarte’s possible replacement until next month. With Juventus eyeing a quick sale by June 30, we would be surprised if United approach for Thuram.
Liverpool and Nottingham Forest have also been linked with the France international. The speculation could be agent or club-driven to push through a Premier League move by June 30.
