Arsenal are plotting to make a move for Bradley Barcola as the Paris Saint-Germain star continues to be linked with Liverpool. The French international lit up the World Cup on Tuesday night when he came off the bench to score his side’s second goal against Senegal.

And now according to the Independent, Arsenal are looking into the necessary details before lodging a bid for the attacker. The report goes on to claim that Mikel Arteta’s main priority this summer is to elevate the level of the attack, and Barcola has now been highlighted as a target that could bring an upgrade to the starting line-up.

The report also claims that there is a possibility that Arsenal will buy both Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa and an attacker, such as Barcola, who has been linked with a move to Anfield in recent weeks as the Reds search for a replacement for Mohamed Salah.

Yan Diomande also remains a target after impressing for RB Leipzig this season.

However, news of Arsenal planning a move for Barcola comes as Liverpool close in on a deal for Spain winger Victor Munoz.

The ECHO understands that the Reds are on the verge of signing Munoz after agreeing to pay the forward’s release clause.

Munoz is now expected to sign a six-year contract and complete a switch to Merseyside, with the Reds beating Newcastle United to his signature.

Eddie Howe had been hoping to recruit Munoz as a replacement for Anthony Gordon, who moved to Barcelona last month in a £69million deal.

Munoz is currently with the Spain squad for this summer’s World Cup in North America and was an unused substitute in their goalless draw with Cape Verde in their opening group match of the competition on Monday.

The former Barcelona academy player is primarily a left winger but is also capable of performing on the right wing when required, as has been the case during his time at Osasuna.

Should Munoz, who only signed for Osasuna last summer from Real Madrid, move to Liverpool, he would become the first signing of Andoni Iraola’s spell as head coach.

Iraola was appointed by the Reds earlier this month following the departure of Arne Slot.
