Vancouver, Canada – Canada secured a resounding 6-0 victory over Qatar in their match early Friday morning at BC Place. This was part of the second round of group stage matches in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Canadian team dominated the match from the outset, opening the scoring in the 16th minute through striker Cyle Larraín. Jonathan David then extended their lead with a second goal in the 29th minute.

At the start of the second half, Qatar suffered another blow when Assim Madibo was sent off in the 53rd minute, leaving them to finish the match with only nine players. This gave Canada a significant advantage on the field.
Nathan Saliba added the fourth goal in the 64th minute, before Mohammed Al-Mannai scored an own goal in the 75th minute, making it 5-0. As a result, the Qatari team’s suffering continued.
