Liverpool have reportedly renewed their interest in signing 6 ft 4 Juventus midfielder Khephren Thuram but face competition for his signature from Manchester United and Nottingham Forest.
Before he joined Juve in 2024 for a reported €20 million (£m) fee, he was heavily linked with a move to Anfield. At the time, it was reported that one major factor in the Frenchman joining the Serie A giants was to play in the same league as his brother, Marcus. They are the sons of France legend Lillian Thuram.
Now, two years into a five-year contract, Thuram is being heavily linked with a move to the Premier League, with United and Liverpool reportedly leading the charge. Forest are also credited with interest, but it’s said that the two North-West giants are favourites.

Juventus are described as “increasingly likely” to sanction a transfer exit for Thuram this summer amid growing interest from the Premier League, with Liverpool and United the most heavily interested clubs.
Why Thuram would help solve Liverpool’s midfield frailty
The 2025-26 season was one of frustration among Liverpool supporters, as they watched the team that won the Premier League the season prior barely finish fifth a year on.
It was particularly hard to watch the midfield performance in Arne Slot’s second season. Dominik Szoboszlai shone, with 13 goals and 12 assists, but Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch struggled in the confusing tactical setup.
That said, there was a lack of bite and physical resilience in midfield, and it looked as though Liverpool were in desperate need for a midfield enforcer in order to accomodate the creative genius of Florian Wirtz.
Thuram would be that man. In some ways, he is quite similar to Declan Rice and, although the Englishman’s ability on the ball is much better, Thuram is the better ball winner. They have equal numbers in terms of ground duel success rate, but Thuram contests and wins more duels.
