Spurs insider reveals €50m Real Madrid star who is only 23, is on Tottenham’s radar

Tottenham Hotspur boss Roberto De Zerbi has shifted his focus to reinforcing the midfield.

Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a major squad rebuild this summer after barely surviving relegation in the 2025-26 campaign. They have started the summer exceptionally well, already adding three defenders.

Roberto De Zerbi undoubtedly needs to add more quality to a Spurs squad that has been underperforming in the Premier League for the last two seasons, especially in midfield. Indeed, the Italian is said to be highly involved with Tottenham’s business this summer and is once again leading the charge for their primary target, Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali.

Tonali wants to leave Newcastle United after three seasons and is open to becoming a part of De Zerbi’s project in N17. Spurs are also in talks with the agents of West Ham midfielder Mateus Fernandes to reach an agreement on personal terms ahead of a potential move this summer. Given the duo’s hefty valuations, some fans may have thought that it would be either Tonali or Fernandes for the Lilywhites, but reputable journalist David Ornstein claims that the pursuits are deemed separate and De Zerbi wants both players in his engine room next season.

Amid interest in Tonali and Fernandes, Spurs have now been linked with a move for another central midfielder.

Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga emerges as a target for Tottenham

According to Spurs insider Szyexcl on X, Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga is also on the North London club’s radar.

Eduardo Camavinga endured a disappointing 2025/26 campaign for Real Madrid, with injuries and poor form eventually costing him a place in the France squad for the 2026 World Cup. He has been on the books of Real Madrid since 2021 and is under contract until 2029, but with Bernardo Silva joining the club on a free transfer from Manchester City last week, new boss Jose Mourinho is open to letting the Frenchman leave this summer.

An alternative target to Fernandes?

Tottenham are planning to show ambition in the transfer window by signing both Tonali and Fernandes. In reality, signing the midfield duo does not appear straightforward as it has been made out to be.

he’s on list. camavinga is on our radar too.

There is no doubt that Tonali is De Zerbi’s No.1 target in midfield, and signing him would see the club break the £100m barrier for the first time in our history. Fernandes would cost a premium too, with West Ham slapping an £80m price tag. Camavinga, in comparison to Fernandes, is likely to be a cheaper option. The Real Madrid star, who is a two-time Champions League winner, will reportedly cost £50-£60million this summer,

Thus, maybe, just maybe, Camavinga is internally viewed as an alternative target to Fernandes, whose agents have been contacted by Liverpool a couple of weeks ago. The Madrid man did endure a poor last campaign, but still only 23 and with plenty of top-level experience under his belt, he’d be a better fit than the West Ham midfielder in De Zerbi’s system.
