Cockiness Tottenham’s stance is wobbling – Loan with option floated

Juventus’ interest in Tottenham Hotspur’s Guglielmo Vicario has grown over the past few days. There is now belief the Italian club can get a favourable deal.

Inter Milan were initially keen on signing the 29-year-old. Personal terms were in place and sporting director Piero Ausilio met Vicario’s entourage during a trip to London.

The Nerazzurri pulled away, and then Juve came forward.

Sport Witness have covered how Juve have held initial talks with the keeper’s entourage. They now appear keen on the Tottenham player, as there has been no positive movement on the Emi Martinez front.

The possibility of a move is now on the rise, and it’s claimed Spurs are ready to compromise.

Favourable deal expected

Today’s Corriere dello Sport reports Vicario is keen on a move to Juve, who see a deal as a cost-effective option. A move for Martinez has turned complex and attempts are underway to sign the Tottenham man.

Juve are now confident that Spurs will grant them a discount.

Their price for Vicario has, so far, been €15m. With Antonin Kinsky and new signing Martin Dubravka in the squad, Juve think this figure will drop.

Turin newspaper TuttoSport have a similar stance.

Juve would be keen on a dry loan. This isn’t enough for the London club, who would ideally want to insert an option to buy or a conditional obligation in the loan.

A straight loan or a loan with an option appears unlikely despite the Italian confidence. It isn’t unusual for media around Serie A clubs to be somewhat delusional regarding the type of deals they can get.

Should Tottenham agree to a loan without a full purchase obligation then that would be a complete collapse.
